Also mention that in a typical 'stud' wall that the total rough vertical dimension is 97 1/8'', having the bottom, and two top plates. The 97 1/8 allows for a 5/8 underlayment and or a 1/2'' drywall ceiling (or the reverse- 1/2 underlay-5/8 ceiling0 which results in a 'standard' 8' ceiling height.
