We had a 40-year-old maple that was nice, but shaded most of our yard to the point where we couldn't grow grass. The previous owners put down gravel!!!So we had it removed and it made a world of difference. I love trees, but not a gravel back yard! Here's an interesting link about planting the right tree in the right place!
