I have a double wide gate (actually 2 gates that open to allow a car to drive through). Will this suggestion work in my case?

Unless you can find an anti-sag gate kit that will fit the double wide gate you have then no. But checkout the kit and I bet you could come up with a similar solution for your own sagging gate that is custom.
