SpaceAgeSage · 1 year agoWhat is the best way to get rid of or to avoid that horrible factory smell that comes on mattresses and takes forever to outgas?

Charles & Hudson · 1 year agoFrom what I've heard there isn't much you can do besides letting the mattress air out in a guest room while you sleep on your old mattress. Or else you can put multiple sheets over it and makes sure the room is well ventilated.

Charles & Hudson · 1 year agoKeep searching and if you find something post it here. I've also read differing reports that the smell is from the plastic used to wrap the mattress but it looks like it's typically the foam that is treated with flame retardant.
